Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis highlighted the government's commitment to improving the daily lives of citizens through targeted interventions and reforms during a cabinet meeting today.
He emphasised that these efforts address long-standing issues that impede progress.
Mitsotakis assured that the government's work continues even in the peak of summer. Addressing high prices, he noted encouraging signs such as better inflation figures and lower supermarket prices compared to last year, indicating the effectiveness of the government's measures.
A key focus is the emergency intervention in the electricity market, which is set to be voted on in Parliament. Mitsotakis stressed the government's readiness to tackle market distortions to benefit consumers and ensure the orderly operation of the electricity market.
He also outlined significant reforms in the Ministry of Education, particularly its digital transformation. These changes aim to enhance legal certainty, streamline processes, and boost citizens' trust in institutions.
Mitsotakis underscored that these reforms are part of broader efforts to promote transparency, a path recently recognised by the EU despite criticisms of the government's rule of law record.
