Emily, who was on a girls' trip with friends, began feeling unwell and fell asleep at the table after just two hours at the party. Her friends found her in a hotel room with a group of boys and took her back to their hotel.
Despite their efforts, Emily's condition worsened rapidly, leading to shallow breathing and loss of consciousness. She was rushed to the University Hospital, where doctors confirmed the presence of drugs in her system.
Emily, a medical student from King's College London, expressed her shock and fear, stating, "I nearly lost my life. I was cautious and stayed with my friends, but someone still managed to spike my drink."
The incident occurred on June 26, during a party where Emily had consumed several drinks, including Malibu and Coke, Sex on the Beach cocktails, and vodka and pineapple. Despite eating and drinking more, she continued to feel unwell.
Emily’s experience highlights the dangers of drink spiking, even when taking precautions. She urges others to stay vigilant, avoid leaving drinks unattended, and stick with trusted friends.
