Larissa Prosecutor Charges Four More in Tempi Train Collision Case

The prosecutor's office in Larissa, central Greece, has filed charges against four individuals in connection with the tragic train collision near Tempi in 2023.

The new charges include the president of the Regulatory Authority of Railroads, who faces accusations related to the safety of train operations. Additionally, three Fire Department staff members are being prosecuted for breach of duty, following a complaint from the victims' families.

These new charges bring the total number of individuals charged in the Tempi train accident case to 41. The collision, which occurred on February 28, 2023, involved a passenger train and a freight train on the Athens-Thessaloniki line. The disaster resulted in 57 fatalities, many of whom were college students, 85 injuries, and one person still missing.
