Greece's Katerina Stefanidi advanced to the women's pole vault final at the Paris Olympics on Monday, successfully clearing 4.55 meters on her second attempt. The 34-year-old Rio Olympics gold medalist will compete in Wednesday’s final alongside 23-year-old Ariadni Adamopoulou, who achieved a height of 4.40 meters. However, 27-year-old Eleni-Klaoudia Polak was eliminated after failing to clear 4.20 meters.
Athletes could secure a spot in the final by meeting the pre-approved entry standard of 4.70 meters. Since fewer than 12 competitors reached this mark, the next best performers were allowed to advance.
