Minister Kefalogianni highlighted the advantages of Greece's "one-stop-shop" for tourism investment, which has streamlined procedures for over a decade. She also pointed to recent legislative changes aimed at facilitating innovative investment tools while promoting sustainability in the sector.
Ambassador Al Dhaheri noted that Greece’s thriving tourism sector has become a major interest for UAE institutional investors, emphasizing the mutual benefits of such collaborations. He expressed enthusiasm for the meeting, which he described as the beginning of a productive partnership to boost tourism traffic and investment between the two nations.
During the discussion, Kefalogianni stressed Greece’s commitment to sustainable and green tourism, alongside ongoing efforts to enhance its maritime tourism infrastructure. This includes upgrading and expanding Greece’s marina network to accommodate growing demands.
The meeting was attended by Ahmed Alkhateri, the UAE commercial attaché, and various officials from the Greek Tourism Ministry, setting the stage for future collaborations aimed at strengthening tourism ties between Greece and the UAE.
