Her experience in London and Boston, and particularly her excellent reputation for her work, were instrumental in her selection for New York.
What sets Kanara apart is her diligence, which comes without fanfare or promises. There are no "I will" statements, no commitments before arriving at the Consulate, and certainly no grand promises.
Instead, she finds confidence in her desire to contribute. "I intend to make every effort to do something good there. I want it to be clear to everyone that I am enthusiastic" about the opportunities and challenges. Her motto, "the enemy of good is 'better,'" bodes well for the future of the Greek-American community in New York.
