Three Minor Earthquakes Hit Southern Crete

Three light earthquakes shook the southern coast of Crete on Wednesday. The first tremor, measuring 4.1 on the Richter scale, struck at 11:30 AM, followed by a 4.8 magnitude quake at 11:32 AM.

The epicentres of these quakes were located at sea, south of Kali Limenes in the Phaestos municipality.

A third earthquake, registering 4.5 on the Richter scale, occurred later in the day. The epicenters of the quakes were reported by the Athens National Observatory's Geodynamic Institute to be 11 km southeast of Kali Limenes, with focal depths of 2 km for the first two quakes and 5 km for the third.

The tremors were felt across a broad area of the southern coast of Crete, but no damage has been reported.
