Hotel prices in August in Athens and the most popular cities worldwide

The average online price in Athens was €242 per night, and in Paris, during the Olympic Games, it was €168 per night.

Hotel prices in August were down compared to the previous month and to the same month in 2023 in the most popular European cities, according to Trivago's analysis of relevant data.

The prices for hotels in Athens hotels follow the same downward trend. In particular, the average online price per night in a double room in the capital's hotel units for August reaches €168, up from €185 last July and €170 in August 2023.

According to Trivago data in other European cities, the online prices are as follows:

In Amsterdam, the average price is €235 in August vs €257 last July; in Barcelona, €246  vs €263; in Berlin, €147 vs €173; in Brussels, €163 vs €195; in Dublin, €260 vs €233, in Istanbul €127 vs €130, Lisbon €202 vs €209 London €269 vs €311, Madrid €147 vs €193, Paris €242 vs €261, Reykjavik €314 vs €317, Rome €205 vs 245 euros, in Vienna €189 vs €169 and in Zurich €302 vs €314.

Accordingly, the online prices at the hotels of popular tourist cities outside Europe in August are as follows:

In Bangkok, the average price is €64 vs €65 in July; in Beijing €134 vs €141; in Buenos Aires €92 vs €105; in Cairo €103 vs €105; in Cape Town €106 vs €108, in Chicago €364 vs €284, Delhi €52 vs €54, Dubai €132 vs €137, Hong Kong €138 vs €137, Johannesburg €77 same as July, Las Vegas €198 vs €190, in Marrakech €135 vs €137, in Melbourne €156 vs €155, in Miami €179 vs €192, in New York €244 vs €337, in Rio de Janeiro €77 vs €80, in San Francisco €220 vs €211, in Seoul €125 at the same levels as in July, in Shanghai €104 vs €111, in Singapore €193 vs €198, in Sydney €180 vs €172, in Sao Paulo €81 vs €80, in Tokyo €156 vs €153, in Toronto €313 vs €286 and Vancouver €384 vs €383.
