Apostolos Tsitsipas at Stefanos' Side
Following the serious incident between Stefanos and Apostolos in Montreal, and the subsequent fallout, the Greek tennis star has made it clear that he will take time to decide on his future coaching arrangements.
During a training session in Cincinnati on Monday, Stefanos was joined by Dimitris Hadjinikolau, the captain of the Greek Davis Cup National Team and the Olympic team heading to Paris. Although Hadjinikolau returned to Greece after the Paris event, he was called back urgently by the Tsitsipas family to assist Stefanos during this new chapter in his career.
At 45, Hadjinikolau is the owner and head coach of the Chatzinikolaou Tennis Academy in Varkiza. He previously coached Petros Tsitsipas during his junior years before Stefanos transitioned to Patrick Mouratoglou's academy. While he lacks ATP-level coaching experience, he has served as the captain of the Greek National Team in Davis Cup competitions in recent years and focuses on developing young Greek athletes at his academy.
