France, Italy, and the Czech Republic are mobilising resources to assist with the devastating fires in the Attica region, following the activation of the EU Civil Protection Mechanism (UCPM) by the General Secretariat of Civil Protection on Sunday afternoon.
France is dispatching a Super Puma helicopter equipped for water dropping, which is scheduled to arrive in Greece on Monday night. Italy is sending two Canadair firefighting aircraft, set to arrive in Attica by Tuesday morning.
The Czech Republic is contributing 75 firefighters and 25 fire trucks, including nine water trucks, with arrival expected on Tuesday. An offer of assistance from Spain and Türkiye is also anticipated to be confirmed shortly.
