Tragically, a charred body, believed to be that of a 60-year-old woman, was discovered in a burned building on Stratonikis Street in Patima Halandriou.
The woman, who was inside a small manufacturing business, was unable to evacuate in time.
By Tuesday morning, the overall situation in the fight against the Attica wildfires had shown improvement, with the blaze no longer spreading across a single front and winds significantly weaker than the previous day, according to the Fire Brigade.
However, firefighters continued to battle numerous scattered fires in areas such as Varnavas, Marathonas, Nea Makri, Ano Souli, and Penteli, where flames were persistently rekindling.
Late Monday night, emergency alerts were issued via the 112 service, prompting evacuations in parts of Marathonas.
