Greek Paralympians Manolis Stefanoudakis and Theodora Paschalidou to Lead Greece at Paris Paralympic Games Opening Ceremony

In an inspiring display of national pride, Paralympic javelin champion Manolis Stefanoudakis and judo champion Theodora Paschalidou have been selected as Greece’s flag bearers for the opening ceremony of the Paris Paralympic Games.

The prestigious event will kick off on August 28 at the historic Place de la Concorde, where an estimated crowd of 65,000 spectators will gather to witness the commencement of the Games.

The Greek delegation will consist of 37 athletes, each representing their nation across a range of sports, including powerlifting, swimming, equestrian, boccia, cycling, shooting, track and field, judo, taekwondo, and archery. Greece’s contingent of competitors includes both seasoned veterans and emerging talent, each carrying the hopes and dreams of their country as they prepare to compete on the world stage.

Among the athletes representing Greece are standout performers such as powerlifters Paschalis Kouloumoglou and Dimitris Bakokhristos, swimmer Dimitris Karypidis, and boccia player Grigoris Polychronidis, who will be assisted by ramp operator Katerina Patroni.

In track and field, athletes such as Thanasis Konstantinidis and Stelios Malakopoulos will compete in shot put and long jump events, while Nasos Gavelas, alongside guide Giannis Nyfantopoulos, will take on the 100m sprint. Meanwhile, the women’s team features top competitors like swimmer Alexandra Stamatopoulou and taekwondo fighter Christina Gentzou.
