Greek police arrested 18 people in targeted checks carried out in Zakynthos, Mykonos and Paros with the aim of dealing with criminal behaviour in areas of increased tourist interest.
In particular, according to the police announcement in Zakynthos, the following took place:
- 222 person checks, - 164 vehicle checks, - 26 additions, - 11 arrests (including 2 for drugs, 3 for noise pollution and 3 for license suspension), while - 69 violations of the Code of Civil Procedure were confirmed. and 8 vehicles were stopped, due to drunkenness and lack of a protective helmet.
Inspections were also focused on Laganas, where 4 of the above arrests were made, specifically 2 for drugs with the seizure of a quantity of cocaine as well as 2 for noise pollution. At the same time, 24 violations of the Code of Criminal Procedure were confirmed. including 6 for speed, 5 for helmet, 2 for seat belt and 1 for drunkenness.
In Mykonos the following took place:
- 240 person checks, - 140 vehicle controls, - 9 additions, - 5 arrests (noise pollution, bodily harm), while - 30 Code violations were confirmed, of which 11 were for interception of a transport project and 2 vehicles were immobilized. In Paros were held: - 51 person checks, - 65 vehicle controls - 4 additions, - 2 arrests for drugs and seizure of 5 packages of cannabis in the form of "chocolate" with a total weight of 135.8 grams. - while 88 violations of the Code of Criminal Procedure were confirmed.
