A magnitude 4.5 earthquake struck the island of Evia, located southeast of Athens, late Monday evening. The tremor was felt in the Greek capital, causing minor disruptions and alarming residents.

The earthquake occurred at approximately 10:53 PM local time, with its epicentre located 7 kilometers east of the town of Vasilika. The Geodynamic Institute of Athens reported a focal depth of 5 kilometers.

While no immediate reports of significant damage or injuries have been confirmed, the shaking caused some concern among residents in both Evia and Athens. Emergency services are monitoring the situation and assessing any potential aftershocks.
