In a landmark achievement for Greek taekwondo, Christina Gentzou has secured a spot in the quarterfinals of the Paralympic Games in Paris.
Competing in the K44 65kg category, Gentzou delivered a stellar performance in her round of 16 match against Poland's Patricia Zewar.
Gentzou made history just eight seconds into the match, scoring the first two points—marking the first-ever points for Greece in Paralympic taekwondo. Her dominance continued throughout the bout, ultimately leading to a decisive 22-0 victory.
Later today, just before 4:00 pm, Gentzou will face Brazil's Ana Carolina Silva de Moura, the second seed in the bracket, in the quarterfinals.
