Greek-American television presenter Maria Menounos, alongside her husband Keven Undergaro and their daughter Athena, met with Greek tourism officials in Athens to discuss boosting Greece's presence in the U.S. market. During her visit, Menounos engaged with Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni, Deputy Minister Elena Rapti, and GNTO General Secretary Andreas Fiorentinos. The discussions focused on leveraging the Greek Diaspora to promote Greece's rich history, culture, and modern tourist experiences abroad.
Accompanied by her husband, Hollywood producer Keven Undergaro, their daughter Athena, and Sotiris Kyranakos, General Coordinator of the Authentic Marathon, Menounos met with key figures at the Greek Tourism Ministry.
The high-profile gathering included discussions with Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni, Deputy Minister of Tourism Elena Rapti, and Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO) General Secretary Andreas Fiorentinos. According to a ministry statement, the talks focused on leveraging the Greek Diaspora's influence to boost Greece's tourism appeal in the United States.
"We explored various strategies to elevate Greece’s tourism profile in the U.S., aiming to showcase not only our country’s rich historical and cultural heritage but also the modern attractions and services we offer," said Deputy Minister Rapti.
Maria Menounos, known for her roles as a journalist on NBC’s Today and Access Hollywood, as well as her appearances in films such as Fantastic Four and Kickin’ It Old Skool, has long been an advocate for Greek culture. Her involvement in promoting Greece underscores the significant role of the Greek Diaspora in fostering international interest and tourism.
The meeting reflects ongoing efforts to strengthen Greece's global tourism presence, utilising influential figures like Menounos to highlight the country’s diverse attractions and vibrant cultural heritage.
