Awe and wonder at the miracle of Panagia Tsambika: A woman became pregnant three months after her visit to the monastery
A grand celebration in honor of Panagia Tsambika was organized this year in Ohio, USA by the Rhodian diaspora. The event, marking the Feast of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary, aimed to become an annual tradition.
The goal is to bring the Rhodians of America closer to their island and to Panagia Tsambika, one of the most prominent and well-known pilgrimage sites dedicated to the Virgin Mary in the Dodecanese.
The miracle of Panagia Tsambika that helped two German women become pregnant
The First Miracle:
A German woman from Munich, unable to conceive due to a serious medical condition, met a Rhodian businesswoman who told her about Panagia Tsambika and her reputation for helping infertile women.
Ascending to the monastery, a verger asked the woman, "Do you believe you will have a child?"
Her answer echoed the faith of many: "Yes, I will."
He then gave her a wick from the candle burning before the icon of Panagia Tsambika to swallow and a cord from the icon to tie around her waist, saying, "Next year, you will bring your child here."
Indeed, three months later, she became pregnant. In August 1997, she brought her baby, named Tsambika-Valessa, to Panagia Tsambika.
The Second Miracle:
For 10 years, another woman from Stuttgart remained childless. In 1979, she and her husband traveled to Rhodes for a holiday.
As their tour bus passed beneath the hill of Panagia Tsambika, the guide mentioned the church and its reputation for helping infertile women conceive.
The next day, the German man visited the monastery and wrote in the visitors' book about his desire to have a child.
Fifteen years later, he returned with his daughter, whom they named Tsambika, feeling incredibly proud that his daughter bore the name of the miracle-working Panagia Tsambika in Germany.
