The Central Port Authority of Volos has lifted the swimming ban at beaches in the wider Volos area after confirming the water is safe.
The ban, which affected beaches from Agria to Saint George of Kynigos, was imposed due to concerns about dead fish found in the Pagasetic Gulf and potential water contamination.
On Monday, officials announced that laboratory tests showed the waters in the Pagasetic Gulf are clean, allowing the beaches to reopen for swimming. The authorities emphasised that the decision was based on clear and reliable test results, ensuring public safety.
