Prominent criminal lawyer Apostolos Lytras has been released from prison after the court reclassified the charge against him from a felony to a misdemeanor. These include a prohibition on approaching his wife and restrictions on communication, except regarding their minor child, and mandatory participation in a counseling program.
The court has reclassified the charge from a felony to a misdemeanour, leading to his release.
The court’s Plenary Council approved the reduction of the original felony charge of domestic aggravated grievous bodily harm to a misdemeanour, following the prosecutor’s recommendation. As a result, Lytras was released on parole under several restrictive conditions.
Lytras is now prohibited from approaching his wife and her residence within 100 metres. Direct or indirect communication with her, whether through technical means or third parties, is also banned, except for discussions related to their minor child, which must be conducted through legal representatives. Any interaction with the child will occur outside the vicinity of Polyzogopoulou’s home, and Lytras will not be allowed to address those accompanying the child.
Additionally, Lytras is required to participate in a counselling and therapy program organised by the National Solidarity Center.
