Valentina Reino, Airbnb’s Head of Public Policy for Southern Europe, noted that the average Airbnb host in Greece rents out their property for just 24 nights a year, offering a supplemental income boost.
"We recognize the difficulties faced in certain Athens neighborhoods, where tourism is heavily concentrated and housing availability is a concern. We are eager to work with the Greek government on targeted, balanced solutions that align hospitality benefits with community needs," Reino emphasized.
Reino also highlighted that since 2021, Airbnb has been collaborating with the Greek Independent Authority of Public Revenue (IAPR), sharing crucial data on Greek listings as part of a significant agreement across Europe.
