Kalambaka will once again host the Panhellenic Truffle Festival in October!

The Natural History Museum of Meteora and the Museum of Mushrooms are organising it. Visitors will learn about truffles and mushrooms. Food and appetisers will be free!

After the great success of the 1st Panhellenic Truffle Festival held last year, which even received a gold award at the Tourism Awards 2024, the Meteora Natural History Museum and Mushroom Museum, in collaboration with the Municipality of Meteora and the support of the Region of Thessaly, will organise the 2nd Panhellenic Festival Truffle from October 10 to 13.

It will take place in Kalambaka, the so-called "City of Truffles," and the organisers promise it will be even better than the one in 2023.

Last year, the festival had 11,000 visitors, many seminars were held, and more than 20,000 portions of food and appetisers made from truffles and mushrooms were distributed.

The Chairman of the Organising Committee for the Festival is the top chef and owner of the multi-awarded "Varoulko" restaurant, Mr Lefteris Lazarou, who also gave a special culinary touch to last year's festival by creating rare dishes with truffles and mushrooms.

Everything will be provided for FREE. Thus, visitors and the residents of the area can learn everything about truffles (cultivation, truffle dogs, etc.), enjoy food cooked on site by dozens of chefs, from truffles and mushrooms, have fun and dance with renowned artists, while children every day will be able to participate in events that will be held especially for them.

This year, too, the well-known and beloved "traveller of gastronomy," Mr Ilias Mamalakis, will be awarded in a special ceremony, as will Mr Nikos Sarandos, an acclaimed chef with a long career in Greece and abroad who enjoys special respect and appreciation in his industry.

Because organising such an undertaking requires many people, the Museum invites those who wish to help to call 2432024959 or email info@meteoramuseum.gr.
