Speaking from Mexico, Pizarro described his move to Greece as "the worst decision" of his career, citing his inability to perform as a major factor in his discontent.
Acquired by AEK Athens last summer, Pizarro struggled to meet the high expectations set for him and subsequently left the club after just a year. In his first interview with Azteca Deportes since his transfer to Mazatlán on the final day of the Mexican transfer window, Pizarro reflected on his Greek experience with evident frustration.
"I would say it was the worst decision I made to come to Greece because I couldn't do what I love most—playing," Pizarro remarked. "If I had to make the decision again, I wouldn’t do it. These situations are tough but help you learn and appreciate things better."
Pizarro also addressed his departure from AEK Athens and his relationship with former coach Mathias Almeida. He criticised the Greek football environment, suggesting that corruption and administrative issues were more severe than he had encountered elsewhere. "In Greece, things are three times worse," he said, adding that the administrative challenges and lack of trust were significant factors in his dissatisfaction.
