Thessaloniki: Pakistani man who filmed an 18-year-old woman on the train was sentenced

The man was found guilty of breaching personal data and sentenced to six months in prison – The incident occurred on the AthensThessaloniki route.

The 64-year-old Pakistani who was accused of filming an 18-year-old on a train with his mobile phone was sentenced to six months in prison by the Autonomous Single-member Misdemeanor Court of Thessaloniki.

He man was found guilty of breaching personal data, while the court decided to suspend his sentence for three years, Proto Thema reported.

According to the victim, the incident occurred on the Athens to Thessaloniki route. The 64-year-old, a Pakistani citizen, was filming the 18-year-old with his mobile phone, while another passenger on the train who noticed the video recording informed the girl.

The girl addressed the train controller, who asked him to check the 64-year-old’s mobile phone.

According to the case file, approximately eight videos the defendant took were finally located. These videos focused on the 18-year-old’s chest and face. The 64-year-old moved them to the ‘trash bin’ of his mobile phone when he realised he had been noticed.

In his statement, the defendant claimed that he was filming the route and the scenery, not the victim.
