Brighton-Le-Sands, NSW - Former Councillor Vicki Poulos is set for a triumphant return to Bayside Council, securing the highest vote count in Ward 5 during last Saturday's NSW Local Government Election.

Running as the Liberal candidate, Poulos garnered significant support across the ward, which encompasses the coastal suburbs of Kyeemagh, Brighton-Le-Sands, Monterey, Ramsgate Beach, Ramsgate, Dolls Point, Sans Souci, and Sandringham.

"I'm incredibly grateful for the trust the people of Ward 5 have placed in me," said an elated Poulos. "I'm confident of being officially declared elected soon based on the strong result."

A mother of three and proud representative of Sydney's Greek Australian community, Poulos aims to be a champion for Ward 5's diverse population. She highlighted the area's vibrant Greek culture, citing landmarks like the Spyros Louis statue and the Millennium Centre as examples of its positive influence.

Poulos outlined several key priorities for her upcoming term, including advocating for the permanent closure of Bay Street between Moate Avenue and The Grand Parade to foster a pedestrian-friendly zone. She also expressed her commitment to collaborating with the NSW Government on the construction of the Brighton Pier and hopes to see the popular Bay Street Greek Festival become a permanent fixture on the cultural calendar.

With her return to Council all but assured, residents eagerly await Poulos's leadership as she strives to deliver on her promises and further enhance the vibrancy of Bayside's Ward 5.
