Upon receiving the award, Mitsotakis dedicated it to all Greeks, acknowledging their resilience and achievements over recent years. He emphasised that Greece has demonstrated a governance model that balances growth with fiscal responsibility, embodying a vision that combines strong national defense and social liberalism.

“The re-election of my government is a testament to how populism can be effectively challenged,” Mitsotakis stated. He recognised the valid concerns of citizens who may turn to populist solutions, underscoring the importance of addressing issues like income inequality and globalization’s impacts. “Our focus is on policy, not politics. We are responsible for finding solutions, and we will be judged by how much we improve the lives of our citizens,” he added.

Mitsotakis also highlighted Greece’s role as a stable ally of the United States, emphasising its importance in maintaining security and stability in a turbulent region.

Concluding his speech, the Prime Minister quoted former European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker, reflecting on the challenges of political leadership. He reiterated that his government was rewarded for doing what was right for the country, showcasing the Greek electorate’s trust in responsible governance.

The event was attended by a range of influential figures, including billionaire businessman Elon Musk, who presented an award to Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.
