The wonderful autumn festivals of Athens

Autumn in Athens is festive, like a continuation of summer. Who said concerts and events are only for the summer? Music, theatre, dance, flavours, and lifestyles mingle on stages, booths, and stalls, challenging us to take part in their festive atmosphere.

So here is a list of festivals to enjoy this autumn.

Kolonos Festival

The Festival continues until September 30, filling the heart of the city with music, theatre, and dance.

With its location on a lush green hill location and general admission of €5, apart from some events with free admission, it offers important events to the Athenian public.

The Festival program is here.

Burger Fest

The celebration of burgers, cocktails, and music returns for its 10th anniversary year, September 27-29, at the Gazi Train Station.

The festival will feature 16 top burger joints and a strong musical lineup to accompany the culinary delights.

Fantasy Festival

Dioptra Publications organised the favourite celebration for young and old people in Peristeri.

Fantasy Festival 2K24 will be held on September 28 and 29 at the Peristeri Exhibition Centre. Over 300 exhibitors will sell books, comics, crafts, interactive games, theatre, and dance events.

The daily ticket costs €5, making it an excellent idea for a family outing that will leave no one unsatisfied.

The long-awaited (again this year) Stegi party

The Onassis Foundation Shelter is celebrating the announcement of this year's rich artistic program with a street party on October 3rd in the Neos Kosmos neighbourhood.

The program includes DJ sets, live hip-hop acts, and an explosive lineup from the domestic and international music scene. Half of Athens, of every age, will be there.

In Orbit v.5

A constant home for those truly thirsty for musical entertainment, Orbit v.5 will occur from October 4th to 6th at the SNFCC Dome. It will offer three days to established and emerging artists from the alternative music scene.

Entrance is free.

Oktoberfest Athens 2024

It's a fact! The world's biggest beer festival is coming for the second year in a row at the OSY Depot in Gazi on October 3-4-5-6, with the support of the Athens Street Food Festival.

As you may know, Oktoberfest has been held in Munich since 1810 and attracts millions of visitors every year—it is no exaggeration to say that it is the biggest festival event on the planet.

Beer lovers will be delighted with this news: special kegs of limited vintage will come from Bavaria to Athens, especially for the Athens Oktoberfest.

Vegan Life Festival

The country's largest vegan event will return to the city for the eighth time on October 5 and 6, from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., in the Technopolis of the Municipality of Athens. Entry is free.

A two-day festival with significant educational interest for people who wish to change their lifestyle will include a rich exhibition of vegan products, speeches, workshops, a photography exhibition, and even a voluntary blood donation stand.

Athens Rebetiko Festival

Finally, something like this is happening in Athens! On October 12th and 13th, at "Elliniko Molyvi" (Iera Odos 154, Egaleo), important musicians and singers of urban Greek song join forces.

Free entry is available for the unemployed, the disabled, those with multiple children, children under 15, pensioners, and seniors over 75.

The event will be both humanitarian and charitable and part of the proceeds will be allocated to the Christodouleio Orphanage and the Panhellenic Association of Paraplegics.
