Athens, Greece - A 4.4 magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of the western Peloponnese in southern Greece earlier today. The tremor, which occurred at 3:18 p.m. local time, was centered 26 kilometers northeast of the Strofades islands, approximately 120 kilometers south-southwest of Patras.
According to the Athens Geodynamic Institute, the earthquake originated at a depth of 5 kilometers beneath the seabed. While the quake was felt in Zakynthos and parts of the Peloponnese, there have been no immediate reports of damage or injuries.
