Police officers of the DIAS motorcycle unit arrested a 37-year-old man of Albanian origin in Menidi this evening, who was found in possession of hand grenades, ammunition, and detonators.
Specifically, according to the Hellenic Police, shortly after 8pm, DIAS officers, during their patrol, spotted the man at the intersection of Bosda and Varela streets and attempted to conduct a check. Upon noticing the approaching officers, the suspect threw two defensive hand grenades, 59 rounds of various calibers, and two detonators he was carrying to the ground, attempting to flee.
However, the police officers managed to immobilize and arrest him.
