Cologne, 02 October 2024 - In response to the escalating conflict between Iran and Israel, the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has issued a Conflict Zone Information Bulletin (CZIB) strongly recommending that all EU aircraft operators avoid flying in Iranian airspace.
This recommendation comes in the wake of the Iranian attack on Israel on October 1st, 2024, and Israel's subsequent declaration of its intent to retaliate. The CZIB, issued jointly by the European Commission and EASA, applies to all flight levels within Iranian airspace and will remain in effect until at least October 31st, 2024.
EASA is actively monitoring the situation and will reassess the risk to EU operators regularly. The agency may adapt, extend, or withdraw the recommendation based on the evolving security situation.
Key Information:
EASA prioritizes the safety and security of all flights operating within its jurisdiction and will continue to provide updates as the situation develops.
