In Trapezounta (Τραπεζούντα, Turkish: Trabzon), the adoration for the footballer remains indelible, even though the captain of the Greek national team now plays for Panathinaikos.

Although Tasos Bakasetas and Trabzonspor have parted ways, the love of the fans of the Pontian team remains indelible. One amazing example is the decision of a fan to name his newborn son Baran Azat Bakasetas after the Panathinaikos midfielder.

“I love Bakasetas and I still watch him even though he has left the team. I see his matches with Panathinaikos, the goals he scores," said Yakup Sağır, one of his biggest fans told Turkish AA Spor, explaining his decision to name his child "Bakasetas."

From Ericek village in Kerasunda (Κερασούντα, Turkish: Giresun), Yakup Sağır told AA correspondent that Trabzonspor is very important to him and that it comes before almost everything else.

"I have been thinking about his name for a long time. I was thinking of adding another name to this name and my wife suggested Baran Azat. I did not reject her," he said, adding: "Bakasetas is also my favourite football player."

Emphasising that he has been a Trabzonspor fan since his childhood, Sağır said, "The love for Trabzonspor is completely different for me. I went for a Quran course in Vakfıkebir when I was a child, and being in that city strengthened my love for Trabzonspor."

The 31-year-old Greek footballer played for Trabzonspor for three years, playing a leading role in the team's 2022 championship, which was also their first in 38 years.
