Steve Giannopoulos: A Greek among the sexiest firefighters photographed for an Australian magazine

Australia 's sexiest and fittest firefighters have done a photoshoot for the Aus Firefighter Calendar 2025 to raise money for charities. The calendar has been around since 1993 and this year, it's back for its 32nd year.

In the snapshots released on social media, men pose half-naked for the camera in fires or water, including Steve Giannopoulos, a Greek-Canadian.

The young man was photographed wearing beige trousers with suspenders, while holding his firefighting equipment in his hands. His body is full of tattoos, while on his lower abdomen he has tattooed in Greek: "Good Life."

Speaking to Neos Kosmos, he said that his participation in the calendar marked his first trip to Australia.

“I hit two birds with one stone, getting to visit Australia and be part of the biggest firefighter calendar in the world. I got to meet some great people working behind the scenes and some awesome firefighters," Steve said.

"Also, I’ve never held a koala in my life so that was pretty cool. The experience was awesome and I’m very happy with the end results now that the calendars are out," he added.

The Greek-Canadian firefighter has roots from Sparta, where his father comes from, while he grew up in Canada. He attended a Greek school in elementary school, while his friends are mostly Greek.

He had a dream of becoming a firefighter since he was little.

“I once wanted to be a firetruck not a firefighter; that’s the running joke in the family. I then grew up and realised they are not superheroes but real humans and that it’s a real job. It attracted me even more and once I got into the fire academy I fell in love and never looked back,” he noted.
