Mavropanos to Feature at Wembley Following Greece Call-Up

Dinos Mavropanos is gearing up to face England at Wembley Stadium after being selected for Greece's squad in their upcoming UEFA Nations League matches this October.

Both Greece and England will bring their unblemished records to Wembley, set for a League B Group 2 clash on Thursday, October 10, at 7.45pm BST. The match will be broadcast live in the UK on ITV1 and streaming on ITVX. The two teams have started strong, each securing victories over Finland and the Republic of Ireland in their initial matches.

Greece, with Mavropanos as a key player, has shown impressive form, first defeating Finland 3-0 at home in the Karaiskakis Stadium in Piraeus. They then traveled to Dublin, where they secured a 2-0 victory over the Republic of Ireland at the Aviva Stadium during the September international fixtures. Mavropanos has been instrumental in defense, forming a formidable partnership with Konstantinos Koulierakis from VfL Wolfsburg.

The upcoming match against England will be a significant test for the Greeks, as the English team also enjoys a flawless record so far, with wins over the Republic of Ireland and Finland, both 2-0.

After the encounter with England, Greece will return to Piraeus to host Ireland on Sunday, October 13, at 9.45pm local time (7.45pm BST). They will play at the same venue where West Ham faced Olympiacos in last season's UEFA Europa League group stage.

A regular for Greece, Mavropanos has thrived under the leadership of new manager Ivan Jovanović, who took over in August. The 26-year-old has accumulated 29 caps and scored two goals since his first appearance in a friendly against Honduras in March 2021.
