Rise in Juvenile Violence in Greece: 17-Year-Old Assaults Ex-Girlfriend's Father with Crowbar

The conflict reportedly stemmed from the teenager's dissatisfaction with the breakup, leading him to hold the father responsible for the separation.

Witnesses reported that during the assault, the father was struck in the head with a crowbar, but he managed to escape the scene unharmed. Following the attack, the victim filed a lawsuit, prompting law enforcement to apprehend the four young men, all aged 17. Additionally, the parents of three of the attackers were arrested on charges of child neglect.

The incident is part of a troubling trend of juvenile violence in Greece, which has seen multiple cases in recent weeks, including a separate attack involving a 13-year-old girl in Thessaloniki. Authorities are increasingly concerned about the rise in such violent behavior among minors, prompting calls for urgent intervention and support. The arrested individuals are set to be brought before the investigating officer today.
