In an interview with SKAI Radio, Labor and Social Security Minister Niki Kerameus discussed the scientific committee’s proposal to adopt the European directive on adequate minimum wages. The report suggests that starting in 2028, the minimum wage should be calculated based on a formula considering inflation and national economic productivity.

Kerameus emphasized the government’s commitment to protecting purchasing power and supporting lower-income groups. She also revealed that the committee is considering proposals to align public sector wages with those in the private sector.

Addressing the ongoing issue of repatriating Greek workers who left during the economic crisis, Kerameus highlighted two key strategies: investing in reskilling and upskilling programs and promoting the return of Greek scientists from abroad. Upcoming initiatives in Amsterdam and Düsseldorf aim to connect these professionals with businesses in Greece.

Furthermore, Kerameus mentioned the Rebrain Greece platform, a valuable tool that has already attracted over 2,000 registered workers and businesses.
