New Details Emerge in Footballer George Baldock's Tragic Drowning

Glyfada, Greece - New details have come to light in the tragic death of footballer George Baldock, who was found dead in his Glyfada pool last Wednesday evening. Initial reports suggesting a vodka bottle was found near the pool have proven inaccurate. The bottle actually contained hand sanitizer, according to a report by STAR's Vagelis Goumas.

Police have been examining security footage and interviewing witnesses to reconstruct the events leading to Baldock's death. While foul play was ruled out early in the investigation, authorities are working to confirm Baldock was alone at the time of the incident. Footage from the building and surrounding streets has, so far, shown no sign of anyone else present.

One enduring mystery is the presence of a second glass on a poolside table. However, this detail, considered potentially significant at first, is now thought to be unrelated, with investigators believing the glass had been there for some time.

Baldock's mobile phone is being analyzed by forensic specialists, and toxicology results are expected in two to three weeks. Medical Examiner Stavroula Papadodima confirmed that drowning was the cause of death, but further tests are being conducted to determine if any underlying medical conditions or substances played a role.

The investigation continues as authorities attempt to understand how a man who knew how to swim could drown in his own pool. The tragedy has sent shockwaves through the European sporting community, leaving many to mourn the loss of the young athlete.
