This summit is part of the broader strategic framework for Greek-US cooperation in education. Organised by College Year in Athens (CYA), the summit will feature discussions on international educational partnerships, including fostering US-Greek university collaborations and expanding study abroad programs in Greece.
Key figures at the event include Melissa Torres, President and CEO of The Forum on Education Abroad, Maria Olson, Chargé d'Affaires of the US Embassy in Athens, Heidi Manley, Head of USA Study Abroad for the US Department of State, and Nikos Papaioannou, Secretary General of Higher Education for Greece's Ministry of Education.
The summit will address themes such as the role of Education Abroad agencies and the sharing of best practices in international partnerships. On the second day, Study in Greece, a key body promoting Greek universities’ international efforts, will hold a roundtable at the Athens Conservatory to showcase successful joint programs between US and Greek institutions, and explore opportunities for short-term study programs for US students in Greece.
This summit continues the Pharos initiative’s goal of expanding international education and increasing opportunities for academic and cultural exchanges between the two countries.
