Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed and Greek PM Discuss Cooperation and Middle East Crises

President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis discussed enhancing cooperation between their nations and addressed critical regional issues, emphasizing the need for a ceasefire and a just solution to the ongoing crises in the Middle East.

ABU DHABI, 13 October 2024 (WAM)—President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan received a phone call today from Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.

During their conversation, they explored opportunities to enhance cooperation in key areas such as economic development, trade, investment, and mutual interests, all in line with their nations' Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

The two leaders also addressed various regional and international issues of shared concern, focusing on the current situations in the Middle East, particularly the crises in Gaza and Lebanon.

In this context, they underscored the importance of intensifying efforts to achieve a ceasefire, ensuring the full protection of civilians by international humanitarian law, and addressing the worsening humanitarian situation.

They emphasized the necessity of preventing the expansion of regional conflicts that threaten security and stability while advocating for a clear political framework for a just and comprehensive peace based on a two-state solution that guarantees security and stability for all.
