Greece has taken a significant step towards enhancing its aviation tourism sector with the launch of a new Aviation Tourism Committee.
The committee, formed by the Greek Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport in collaboration with the Tourism Ministry, held its inaugural meeting recently, marking the beginning of a coordinated effort to strengthen and expand aviation tourism in the country.

Key government figures participated in the first meeting, including Deputy Minister for Transport Vassilis Oikonomou, Deputy Minister of Tourism Elena Rapti, General Secretary of Transport and committee coordinator Despina Paliarouta, Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority (HCAA) Governor Christos Tsitouras, and Hellenic Aviation Service Provider (HASP) Governor George Saounatsos, alongside representatives from various ministries.
The committee, initially announced in April, is tasked with advancing aviation tourism by developing strategies to boost the general aviation sector. A major focus will be upgrading the infrastructure of Greece’s regional airports to meet the growing demands of tourism and provide comprehensive aviation services nationwide.
