The International Athletics Federation (World Athletics) announced today (Monday, October 14th) the finalists for the title in the jumping and throwing events, and the truth is, looking at the names on the list, they are all exceptional, having demonstrated an incredible year with amazing achievements.

As expected, in addition to Miltos Tentoglou, who is a constant force in the long jump, Mondo Duplantis (Sweden) is also nominated for his achievements in the pole vault, conquering everything and setting three world records.

Joining the European duo, who are featured on all lists of top contenders, are Ryan Crouser (USA), who dominated the shot put; Ethan Katzberg (Canada), who seems to be the only one capable of threatening the long-standing world record in the hammer throw; and Cuban-born Spaniard Jordan Díaz Fortun, who achieved incredible feats in the triple jump.

The five nominees were selected by a World Athletics expert committee, and the two finalists will be determined through a voting process.

The Closing Stages

Fifty percent of the votes belong to the WA Council, with 25% going to the "athletics family" (accredited media and national federations) and 25% to the public.

Public voting will take place on World Athletics' social media platforms and will remain open until October 20th.
