Aegean Airlines has announced an expansion of its direct flights between Thessaloniki and Kalamata, driven by growing demand from business travellers, students, and tourists from Northern Greece and the Peloponnese.

During an event hosted by the Kalamata municipality in Thessaloniki, the airline revealed it will increase the number of direct flights to three per week during the winter months, up from two, and five per week during the summer, up from three. Aegean’s Head of Operations, Irene Sidiropoulou, highlighted that 23,000 seats will be available on the route in 2025.

Kalamata Mayor Athanasios Vasilopoulos noted the strong ties formed between the two cities since the route's launch in 2010, facilitating student travel to Thessaloniki and boosting business investment and tourism from Northern Greece.
