Tusk and Mitsotakis Begin Official Visit to Serbia to Discuss European Prospects

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk and Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis arrived in Serbia on Wednesday for an official visit. They were welcomed by Serbian leaders at the airport and will participate in discussions regarding Serbia’s European prospects. A dinner hosted by Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic will include Tusk, Mitsotakis, and Friedrich Merz, the leader of the German opposition Christian Democratic Union. The meetings aim to strengthen ties and explore Serbia's integration into the European Union.

Serbian Prime Minister Milos Vucevic welcomed Tusk at Belgrade’s Nikola Tesla Airport. In a photo with Tusk on Instagram, Vucevic noted that “a lot of work awaits them today and tomorrow.”

Serbian Foreign Affairs Minister Marko Djuric greeted Mitsotakis, who expressed his honour in an Instagram post welcoming the Prime Minister of Greece.

Later that evening, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic will host a dinner for Tusk, Mitsotakis, and Friedrich Merz, the leader of the German opposition Christian Democratic Union.

Greek media reported that the leaders will discuss Serbia’s European prospects with Vucic as representatives of the European People’s Party (EPP), the largest party in the European Parliament, of which the ruling Serbian Progressive Party is an associate member.

On Thursday, Tusk will hold a one-on-one meeting with Vucic, followed by a plenary session with delegations from Serbia and Poland led by the two leaders.
