It is the queen of autumn, and we enjoy it in all its forms. When baked, it softens and sweetens so nicely that it goes well with whatever we combine with it.
Pumpkins go in salads with green leafy vegetables, cheeses, and nuts, accompanied by grilled chicken or cooked beef, and are good company with exuberant fish such as salmon. They are prepared in just a quarter of an hour in the air fryer.
Ingredients for 3-4 servings:
8-10 slices of pumpkin (1 cm thick)
Two tsp. of extra virgin olive oil
juice of 1 lemon
Four cloves of garlic, mashed
1 tsp. sage leaves
salt
pepper
Procedure
Place the pumpkin in the air fryer. Sprinkle with extra virgin olive oil and lemon, rub with garlic, sprinkle with sage and season well with salt and pepper. Bake at 180°C for 15 minutes, until well softened.
Sweet version: Brush the pumpkin with a little butter and sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon for an equally easy and delicious sweet snack.
