The flag was raised in the port of Crete's largest city in front of the fortress of Koules.
In the sky of Heraklion, a Greek flag of gigantic dimensions was raised again this year for the anniversary of Oxi Day.
The 1.5 acre flag was raised in the port of Heraklion in front of the fortress of Koules.
"We are here, and with this initiative, we want to honour this day, be happy together and fill our souls with pride," said Iasmi Kalathaki, director of Kappa Studies.
The flag's size allows it to be seen from many parts of the city.
