Who is The Hellenic Initiative (THI)
The Hellenic Initiative (THI) Australia is the Australian branch of a global non-profit organization dedicated to supporting Greece during times of economic hardship and crisis. It aims to:
Provide crisis relief: Support vulnerable populations in Greece affected by economic downturns or other crises. This often involves partnering with organizations on the ground in Greece.
Invest in entrepreneurship: Fostering economic development and job creation in Greece by supporting startups and small businesses through grants, mentorship, and networking opportunities. They want to help create a more vibrant and sustainable Greek economy.
Provide philanthropic support: Connecting the Greek diaspora and Philhellenes (lovers of Greek culture) with opportunities to contribute to Greece's recovery and future. This involves fundraising and grant-making activities.
THI Australia works with other THI chapters worldwide (like THI US and THI Canada) to maximize their impact and coordinate efforts to support Greece. They believe in leveraging the global Hellenic network to address critical challenges and promote a brighter future for the country.
