Theofanos on Theodoridou: Our Relationship is Off, She Didn’t Behave Properly

Theofanos

George Theofanos spoke on the show “Tet-a-Tet” about the song “Feggari Mou,” which Natasa Theodoridou performed in an Easter advertisement for Jumbo featuring actor Tasos Bougas.

It is important to note that the popular singer voiced her dissatisfaction with the song’s use, even temporarily removing it from her setlist.

“Why does allowing my song to be used in an advertisement diminish its value? Did Savvopoulos devalue his work when he permitted its use? When I perform a show and the lyrics are changed, does that devalue the song too? What’s the difference with a television spot? I’m not apologizing; your perspective is wrong. The song exists on its own, and it also exists with its singer. I don’t see anything wrong with that,” George Theofanos stated initially.

“Natasa Theodoridou may have initially found it amusing for Bougas to perform her song and decided to remove it from her setlist, but ultimately, she couldn’t resist adding it back. I’ve never stopped playing it. Someone advised her to endorse a product, but when they offered her a low fee, I imagine she felt upset. It’s important to remember that the song belongs to the composer and the lyricist, not the singer. The singer is merely the vehicle for the song; they play a crucial role, but they do not own the rights to the music. Those rights belong to the creators, and that’s how it should be,” he emphasized.
