Giannis Antetokounmpo remained unfazed after Donald Trump questioned his Greek heritage during a rally. The former President's comments, made just days before the 2024 Presidential Election, were brushed off by the basketball star, who emphasized his focus on the game rather than political discourse.
"Who really embodies the Greek spirit more, him or me?" Trump posed to the audience. "Honestly, it's about equal, isn't it? Maybe even a bit more for me."
Giannis, engaged in a game against the Cleveland Cavaliers at the time of Trump's remarks, was approached for his response post-game. Displaying a composed demeanor, he downplayed the significance of Trump's comments.
"I'm unaware of what was said," Giannis remarked after the game at Fiserv Forum on Saturday night. "I don't engage much with political matters. What little I do, I prefer to keep within my family. My focus is on winning basketball games, not on addressing non-basketball topics. I wish both candidates the best of luck."
