An emergency storm warning was issued early Monday morning by the National Meteorological Service, providing details about the regions that will be affected.
The stormy winds, with a force of 7 to 8 Beaufort, will affect the southeastern Aegean, the Icarian Sea, the Cavo D’Oro strait, and the central Aegean Sea today.
Simultaneously, with the strengthening of the winds in the Aegean, the temperature will drop across the country, while drought conditions will continue.
Detailed weather today:
In Macedonia, Thessaly, the Sporades, Euboea, eastern Sterea, the eastern and southern Peloponnese, and Crete, there will be temporarily increased clouds with a few local showers that will be confined to the south by the afternoon. In other areas, mostly clear skies with occasional local clouds. Visibility will be limited in places in the mainland, mainly in the west, during the morning and evening hours.
Winds will blow from eastern and gradually northern directions 3 to 5 Beaufort in the west. In the east, winds will blow from northern directions 4 to 6 Beaufort, and up to 7 and occasionally 8 Beaufort in the Aegean.
Temperature will drop slightly across the country, reaching 16 to 20 degrees Celsius, and locally in the Ionian, western and southern mainland, southern Crete, and the Dodecanese 21 to 23 degrees Celsius.
MACEDONIA, THRACE
Weather: In Macedonia, temporarily increased clouds with a few local showers and gradual improvement from midday. In Thrace, generally clear weather with few temporary clouds.
Winds: Variable 3 to 4, occasionally in the east northeasterly up to 5 Beaufort.
Temperature: From 07 to 19 degrees Celsius. In western Macedonia, the minimum will be 4 to 5 degrees lower.
IONIAN ISLANDS, EPIRUS, WESTERN STEREA, WESTERN PELOPONNESE
Weather: Mostly clear with occasional local clouds, and in southern Peloponnese, local showers.
Winds: From eastern and gradually northern directions, 3 to 5 Beaufort.
Temperature: From 08 to 23 degrees Celsius. In the interior of Epirus, 3 to 4 degrees lower.
EASTERN STEREA, EUBOEA, EASTERN PELOPONNESE
Weather: Temporarily increased clouds with a few local showers, which will be confined to the southern Peloponnese by the afternoon, and gradually improving in other areas.
Winds: Northerly to northeasterly 4 to 6, and locally 7 Beaufort in the east.
Temperature: From 08 to 21 degrees Celsius.
CYCLADES, CRETE
Weather: Temporarily increased clouds mainly in Crete where a few local showers are expected. From afternoon, generally clear in the Cyclades.
Winds: From northern directions 6 to 7 and occasionally local 8 Beaufort.
Temperature: From 13 to 19, and in southern Crete up to 22 degrees Celsius.
EASTERN AEGEAN ISLANDS – DODECANESE
Weather: Generally clear with temporary clouds in the morning hours in the south.
Winds: From northern directions 5 to 7, and possibly local 8 Beaufort.
Temperature: From 15 to 23 degrees Celsius. In the north, 4 to 5 degrees lower.
THESSALY
Weather: Temporarily increased clouds with a few local showers and gradual improvement from midday.
Winds: Variable 3 to 4 Beaufort and in Sporades, northeasterly up to 5 Beaufort.
Temperature: From 08 to 19 degrees Celsius.
ATTICA
Weather: Temporarily increased clouds with a slight chance of light rain in the north in the morning. Generally clear from the afternoon.

Temperature: From 12 to 20 degrees Celsius. In the east and north, the maximum will be 2 to 3 degrees lower.
THESSALONIKI

In other areas, generally, clear weather with few temporary clouds in the west in the morning hours, where visibility may be limited in places.
Winds will blow from eastern directions 3 to 5 Beaufort in the west and from northern directions 4 to 6 and local 7 Beaufort in the Aegean.
Temperature will drop slightly in the northeastern mainland and remain slightly below seasonal averages, reaching 15 to 18 degrees Celsius in the north. In other mainland areas, the Ionian and the Cyclades will reach 21 to 23 degrees, and on the Aegean islands, 20 to 22 degrees, locally in southern Crete and the Dodecanese, 23 to 24 degrees Celsius.

Generally clear weather in most of the country with local clouds in Thessaly, eastern Sterea, the Sporades, Euboea, and Crete, and a chance of isolated thunderstorms in the southern Ionian.
Visibility in the morning and evening hours in the northern mainland will be locally limited, and fog may form in mountainous areas.
Winds will blow from eastern directions 4 to 5 and locally up to 6 Beaufort in the west and from northern directions 5 to 6, and 7 Beaufort in the Aegean.
