Athens, Greece – A third suspect has been apprehended in connection with a suspected domestic terrorism bomb plot following an explosion in central Athens that has rendered an apartment building uninhabitable. Authorities released photos of seized evidence, including handguns, disguises like wigs and rubber masks, and handwritten diagrams, recovered from the blast site and three additional locations. A vehicle was also searched and yielded further evidence.
Minister Michalis Chrisochoidis described the suspects as young individuals who appear to be aspiring to form a new generation of domestic terrorists within Greece. The investigation is being led by anti-terrorism units who are analyzing the seized digital devices and documents to uncover the full extent of the plot.
The explosion caused significant damage to the apartment building, which has now been declared uninhabitable, displacing residents.
