ATHENS, GREECE - Greece celebrated Air Force Day today with Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis praising the "steel hearts" of its pilots. In a social media post, Mitsotakis emphasized the vital role the Air Force plays in maintaining the nation's security. "The Air Force celebrates! It honors its heroes and continues on their way, keeping our skies free and forever blue,” he stated.
The Prime Minister highlighted not only the advanced technology of the Rafale, F-16 Viper, and incoming F-35 fighter jets but also the unwavering dedication of the pilots who fly them. “All Greeks are celebrating with [the Air Force] because they know that the national shield is not only built by the steel wings… but as much, above all, the steel hearts of those who fly with the national emblem on their chests,” Mitsotakis declared. He concluded by expressing his confidence in the Air Force’s ability to safeguard Greece's security, peace, and progress, wishing them "Xronia Polla!" (Many Years!)
