Chinese cars are increasing their presence in Greece, and there have been thousands of registrations since the beginning of 2024.

The entry of Chinese car manufacturers into Greece is happening at a rapid pace. The statistics show that the sales of these companies and their market shares increase every month.

Names and brands you may never have heard of in the past seem to have their fans. At the same time, they cover transportation needs at good prices.

According to the official data of SEAA (Association of Importers of Automobile Dealers), nine brands from China were registered from the beginning of the year until September.

At the top is MG

This number is expected to grow even more by the end of the year, while their sales will increase significantly as the importers who bring them will not sit idly by.

According to the data, the most popular and dynamic brand everyone knows is MG.

The company, established in England 100 years ago, maintains the lead while in the whole market, it occupies 15th place and, in fact, in just one year of presence in the Greek market (it is under the umbrella of the Syngelidis Group).

MG has sold 2,436 new cars in nine months and has a market share of 2.3%.

BYD is also in the spotlight

BYD

BYD is in second place and has excellent prospects. The Chinese giant has been making the models available (through the Sfakianakis Group) in Greece for about six months.

Until September, it sold 474 cars and gained a market share of 0.4%. The forecasts for BYD are very good until the end of 2024, and it is assumed that it will increase its share in the Greek market even more.

With the exception of the MG and BYD brands, which have almost all the Chinese cars in Greece, there are others that are not as well known and do not have the dynamics and appeal as the ones mentioned above.
